Tua Tagovailoa took the college football world by storm a few years ago. Now he’s ready for the NFL, but what makes him so good?
Tua Tagovailoa is going to be a top NFL draft pick this May. That’s a fact.
But what facts might escape fans about the Hawaiian quarterback?
Tua is a fan favorite, and is beloved by Alabama fans everywhere. However, he does have some crazy fun facts about him that make him even more lovable.
Having just graduated college, I have come to realize that being this talented at age 22 is quite impressive. I mean, I’m a pretty decent guy… but I wish I could command an offense like Tagovailoa.
He’s the golden boy of college football. Personally, I think he has more likable characteristics than Trevor Lawrence, but both of them are awesome.
So let’s take a look at the top traits, or fun facts, about Tua Tagovailoa.
5. Tua Tagovailoa is Hawaii’s all-time leading passer
Tua left Hawaii after an illustrious high school career.
He was the pride of Saint Louis High School, and came out of high school as the top ranked dual threat QB in the country.
It definitely well-deserved.
He finished his career with 8,158 passing yards, along with 84 passing touchdowns. The guy was already a very capable passer, but he also carried a great run game.
Tagovailoa ended high school with 1,727 rushing yards, and 27 touchdowns on the ground.
All of this culminated in Tua winning a state championship his senior year, over the top-ranked Kahuku.
4. Tua Tagovailoa is a press-conference comedian
Like I said earlier, Tua is just a likable guy and his press conferences show it.
He plays a great relationship with the media, and always has something witty to say to a question. Just before the 2018 season, a writer asked Tua how he practices his escapability.
Tua responded saying, “Sometimes I just practice doing backflips and throwing.”
That is a golden response.
He just has a very cool demeanor, and he’s always ready with a joke. You just gotta love the guy.
I can’t wait for him to get in it with the NFL media.
3. He can play the ukulele
Okay so this one isn’t that football related, but come on… what can’t this guy do?

The thing is… he’s actually very good. The ukulele playing is one thing, but his voice is actually so good.
I’ve watched the video so many times, and I just can’t believe it. He’s so musically talented.
If the whole superstar NFL quarterback thing doesn’t work out, he’s got a musical future.
2. His back-up QB is his younger brother
Tua’s younger brother, Taulia, committed to play at Alabama last season.
Now, as his brother gets ready to hit the big time, Taulia has to get ready to take over the starting role for the Crimson Tide come next season. The reason why this is so cool is because Tua is always showing his brother things about the college football world.
They’re seemingly inseparable on the sideline, and it’s really cool to watch.
It’s always fun to see a couple brothers completely drown out the noise, and get to the top level of talent in the country.
I’m really rooting for Taulia to fill in the giant shoes his brother is going to leave after this season.
1. Tua Tagovailoa got 400+ members of his family to go to the National Championship last year
Pretty freakin crazy.
That might be the best stat of the entire National Championship from last season. The stadium attendance was 27,228, and 400 of them were Tagovailoas.
Clearly family means everything for this guy, and we all can really rally behind someone who values relationships that much.
To have one percent of the stadium at one of the biggest games in sports be part of the same family is pretty cool. This is the type of guy we all need to root for come next NFL season.
Plus, if he makes a Super Bowl, it would be awesome for one whole section to just be Tua Tagovailoa jerseys.
